In ancient Chima, the Storm Tribes were the natural rivals of the Phoenix Tribe. These Storm Tribes can create massive storms and can launch lightning that they can then control. They are also masters of using a rare form of Chi known as Storm Chi, a substance closely resembling Fire Chi but twice as powerful and thrice as dangerous. The Storm Tribes consist of three tribes: the Thunder Bird Tribe, which rules the Storm Tribes; the Dragon Tribe, which are the strongest of the Storm Tribes; and the Sea Serpent Tribe, which is the only underwater tribe in the land of Chima. These tribes were hidden away until the day that the Phoenix returned. Thinking only of their hatred for the Phoenix, the Storm Tribes now march across the land for revenge.
